Veteran's Day trip to the Carousel

The kids and I had Veteran's Day off (Patrick had to work).  The City graciously opened the Carousel today - instead of the typical $1 to ride it was a donation for the Franklin Center.  It was a great day and a great deal so we stopped downtown before we headed to Panera (again) for lunch.



Reindeer

We headed to the library today to check out real, live reindeer.  It still always seems odd to me to see live (large) animals in the libary but who am I to judge . . . they're less crazy my kids :)

The kids enjoyed coloring some antler hats . . .

And Zach enjoyed the music and tried it out for himself . . .

We headed over to the park next to see if we could find Shannon and Zach but we didn't see them.  We hung out for a bit then headed to Panera for a nice end to the afternoon.



Relaxing

Great fall day!

It was a (cool!) but nice day out so we decorated our pumpkins on the porch.  This really has been the best decorating set - all the fall fun of carving without any of the hard work :)

Fireman Joe visited Allie's class on Friday and told them about the Fire House's Open House on Saturday.  We walked downtown to check it out.  Cake, balloons, and emergency vehicles - it was a hit!



Off to School

Sporting their festive Halloween shirts today . . . and their usual goofy attitudes :)



Apple Picking

I *love, love, love* our annual trip to Hicks Orchard.  This was our 4th year now and it was just as fun as ever.  We almost missed picking season - it was over very early this year due to the warm spring and a late frost. 

We picked a couple bags of apples and stopped to feed the goats.  And, of course, we got some freshly made donuts and some warm cider.  Yum!



Lauren's Birthday Party

Maria and the girls made an awesome Minnie Mouse pinata . . . that the kids thoroughly enjoyed destroying :)
